Overview
Students will look at some fish body adaptations and try to explain how they would help the fish to survive in its environment. Then, the students will use these adaptations to create a new fish. Finally, the students will look at native Arizona fish and determine what adaptations they have.

1 - 2 days (30 - 45 minutes each day)

After completing the activities contained in this lesson, the student should
understand these basic concepts:
- All organisms have adaptations that allow them to survive in particular environments.

This lesson was designed to present an integrated approach to learning. Not only will the students be introduced to science concepts dealing specifically with ecosystems, but they will also develop and interpret graphs and write a persuasive paragraph.
