Wildlife News
Nov 10, 2005

PHOENIX - The Arizona Game and Fish Department has announced that the spring 2006 big game hunting draw is complete, and results are available.

Applicants can go online at azgfd.gov or call (602) 942-3000 and press 2 to find out if they have been drawn for turkey, javelina, buffalo or bear. Those checking the results will need to provide a department identification number and their date of birth.

Hunt-permit tags will be mailed out no later than Nov. 18 to applicants who were successfully drawn. The department received more than 48,000 applications for this year's spring draw and will issue more than 30,000 tags.

The department also announced that leftover hunt-permit tags for javelina will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis. Paper applications for these tags will be accepted by mail only beginning at 8 a.m. (MST) on Nov. 21. There is no online application option. Applicants must already possess or purchase a 2006 hunting license to apply for these tags.

To find out what leftover tags are available, visit azgfd.gov or call (623) 236-7702.
