Parking: Buses and vans will be able to follow the directional signs into the family adventure area and drop off and pick up students in front of the event. Bus and vehicle parking will be provided along with a shuttle for the drivers to return to the event.
Lunch: There will be ample space to store food and eat. Please be advised, however, that these areas will be left unattended during the event.
Food vendors will be on site, as well.
What to Bring:
- Water
- Sunscreen
- Bag or backpack (to carry all the crafts and goodies received at event)
- Snacks and/or lunch, or money to purchase food
Event Logistics: Since we have a large number of students and chaperones attending the event, please be aware that every student will not be able to do every activity. We are creating a “Passport”, similar to last year, that will highlight and provide suggestions for some of the day's activities. This passport can be verified as the students exit to receive their “prize”. Please be aware: Event chaperones will be responsible to choose the activities or demonstration that their group attends, and check them off as they complete them.
Keep in mind that most of the activities will be there throughout the weekend. If your students did not get to participate in a particular activity or they wish to spend more time, encourage them to attend with their families.
Video and Photo Footage: Please be advised that there will be AGFD department photographers and film crew at the event on Friday. If you have any concerns, please contact Kellie Tharp by phone at 623-236-7238 or by email at ktharp@azgfd.gov.
Passport: Please print out this passport for your students. It will serve as a suggested roadmap for the event, and will be verified at the end for each student to receive a “prize” for completing the activities.
Educators can print the passports out (4 passports per page) and choose to use yarn or a lanyard for the students to attach their passport and keep track of it.
The Outdoor Expo will provide your students or children with a variety of opportunities to experience outdoor recreation and education.
