One of our newest boxes, the Crayfish Capture Boxes make science interactive. It comes complete with all of the materials you need to capture crayfish from our local waterways. A complete protocol for using the equipment is provided. In addition, the Department often sponsors Crayfish Eradication workshops to show you first-hand how to use the equipment. Each box provides enough materials for 3 groups (12-15 people). If you are working with larger numbers, consider checking out more than one box.
For more information about crayfish, including an electronic version of the protocols and regulations regarding the use of live crayfish in the classroom, check out the following web sites:
Please note: a fishing license is required to legally capture crayfish. The transport of live crayfish is strictly prohibited in Arizona.
