2009 Arizona State USA Shooting and SCTP Junior Olympic Skeet Championship

Once again this year the Arizona State Junior Olympic match was supported by both USA Shooting and the Scholastic Clay Target Program.  Junior shooters from across the state were able to compete for the chance to represent Arizona at the Junior Olympics in Colorado Spring, CO at the end of July.

Beautiful weather contributed to great scores including 5 qualification scores . Congratulations to the winning SCTP squad of Cody McNutt, DJ Franco and Brad Burch from the Yuma Young Guns.  Congratulations to Matthew Ojerio previously with the Huachuca Hot Shots for his top scores of 116 and to the High SCTP shooter Cody McNutt with a 98.  Kaycee McNutt also of the Yuma Young Guns was top JO lady and top SCTP lady.  Our gold medal winners and individuals shooting the qualification score will be receiving an invitation to the Junior Olympics.

A big thank you to Rob Larson and the Tucson Trap and Skeet Club for organizing and hosting this event.

Great SCTP Season to all coaches, parents and athletes.  Keep shooting and we will see you next season.
