The Department’s long-term goal
The Arizona Game and Fish Department believes the Clay Target Center has huge potential in serving the needs of our local shooting community. Our goal is to one day turn it into the finest trap, skeet and sporting clays facility in the country
The Arizona Game and Fish Department supports shooting sports programs, firearms safety, hunter safety and shooting range development, in addition to its wildlife management and conservation responsibilities.

Personalized customer service
We’ll provide the same outstanding level of customer service that we deliver to customers at the other Department-operated shooting ranges at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility. Our staff serves the needs of recreational shooters of all experience levels. Beginners are welcome and will receive expert instruction in a safe, controlled environment.
Competitive events
The Department has developed a strong schedule of events for the 2006-07 season, including two major competitions and a number of registered events. The Ben Avery Shooting Facility also hosts other large events, such as Winter Range and the Arizona Game and Fish Department Outdoor Expo.
Youth programs
The center is integral to continued development of our youth programs, such as the rapidly growing Scholastic Clay Target Program. The center will serve as a venue for state championship events and as a practice facility for area youth.
