Dates Set for 2012 Expo
Mark your calendars: The 2012 Arizona Game and Fish Outdoor Expo will take place the weekend of March 31- April 1. Don't miss out on this chance to experience the great Arizona outdoors!
The Outdoor Expo is an annual event conducted by Game and Fish to give the public the chance to learn about wildlife-related and outdoor recreation activities, including wildlife viewing, fishing, hunting, archery, shooting sports, camping, off-highway vehicle recreation, and boating recreation.
“We offer this event each year to introduce or reconnect people with the amazing outdoor resources and activities available in our state,” said Assistant Director Ty Gray.
In addition to the hands-on activities, more than 150 exhibitors will be on hand, including sportsmen’s and conservation organizations, government agencies, and commercial vendors of outdoor products and services.

2011 Outdoor Expo Draws a Record Weekend Crowd of 37,500
Friday Youth Day draws record 4,500
The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s 2011 Outdoor Expo drew a record 37,500 people over the March 26-27 weekend at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix.
Saturday’s attendance was 22,000 and Sunday’s was 15,500.
In addition, a record 4,500 schoolchildren, teachers and chaperones attended the Expo Youth Day on Friday, March 25, meaning 42,000 people total attended over the three days.
The Gold Sponsor for the 2011 Outdoor Expo was Cabela’s. Silver Sponsors were Dick’s Sporting Goods, the Weatherby Foundation, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Bronze Sponsors were Winchester Ammunition, White Flyer Targets, Diamond Ridge Development, and Remington. Other Expo sponsors were APS, Ruger, Lincoln Property Company, Sundt, Piper Jaffray & Co., and Woodruff Construction.
The Arizona Game and Fish Department is operated on a “user pay, user benefit” business model. The Outdoor Expo promotes wildlife-related and other outdoor activities to current and future customers who support the department’s mission and funding through their engagement in those activities. The department receives no Arizona tax dollars, and no tax dollars are used in conducting the Expo.
Next year’s Outdoor Expo will be held March 31 and April 1, 2012, at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility.
