Tour Arizona Wildlife Live, through our Cams

SPECIES: Sandhill Cranes (Grus canadensis)

SEASON: October – April

ACTIVE TIMES: 5 p.m. – 7 a.m., 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

About the sandhill crane

The best time to view sandhill cranes is from the start of sunrise to about an hour after. Then the cranes will return to the Draw in the late morning. There they will typically remain the rest of the day with various crowds taking off and landing. At night they can be viewed in the water, resting. We do our best to keep the camera trained on cranes and other interesting subjects. Sandhill cranes are at the Draw from October to March/ early April.

What to expect on the cams

This stream shows an unedited glimpse of nature in all its beauty and occasional harsh reality. Viewers may witness a variety of behaviors that seem cruel, such as feeding on other animals. Viewer discretion is advised.

Aggressive interactions between growing siblings can result in injury or death within the nest. AZGFD likely will not intervene if/when problems arise and may choose to temporarily interrupt the stream, if needed.
