The Arizona Game and Fish Department is seeking public comment on a draft Black Mountain Bighorn Sheep Management Plan. The bighorn sheep population in the Black Mountains near Kingman, Arizona are facing a variety of issues, including predation, habitat fragmentation, drought, and competition with non-native species.

“This is a strategic plan for the management of these issues,” said Kevin Morgan, habitat program manager with the department’s Kingman office.

This plan is critical for an area that contains one-third of all the bighorn sheep in Arizona. The comment period has ended.
