2008 Wildlife Conservation Fund Grant Program Awards
 
The Wildlife Conservation Fund (WCF) grant program received 38 applications with a total of $300,000 in grant funding available. The Department awarded the following eleven projects:

  2.  WCF08006: Reintroduction of Gila Trout (Oncorhynchus gilae gilae) in West Fork of Oak Creek; Federation of Fly Fishers; $53,750

  3. WCF08011: Share in the Fun of Shooting; Chandler Rod & Gun Club; $1,990

  4. WCF08012: Northern Leopard Frog Breeding Site Protection Project; Friends of the Forest; $33,000

  5. WCF08014: Hunter Recruitment & Retention Outreach/Marketing Plan; Mogollon Sporting Association; $10,000

  6. WCF08016: The Influence of Water Quality on the Health of Riparian Bird Communities in Arizona; University of Arizona; $43,184

  7. WCF08017: Plague and Gunnison's Prairie Dogs in Arizona: An Examination of Potential Genetic Determinants of Resistance; Northern Arizona University; $61,844

  8. WCF08019: Sustaining Lake Havasu Fish Habitat Benefits; Anglers United; $20,000

  9. WCF08023: Developing Forest Management Recommendations for Restoring the Small Mammal Community in Ponderosa Pine Forests in Arizona; Northern Arizona University/Ecological Restoration Institute; $30,373
